I can hear you asking me, “Ronda, why are you talking about a WordPress plugin on a writing and storytelling blog?”

Huh???

Yes, I’m going to talk about a WordPress Plugin. That’s not like me, I know, but there’s a reason.

It’s because I know what it’s like to have a business blog and want to do 2 things: rank well in search engines and serve YOU my dear reader well with stories that allow you to make things easier, get things done, stop bad things from happening, keep good things coming more, and so forth.

You’ll understand as you read today’s story.

Today’s Story

Imagine this: You have a blog and you use certain terms that your audience come to you for. Your reader sees one of these special terms (storytelling, for example) highlighted. And they see that they can link over to all the stories you write using that word.

And when use that same word or phrase in an article you write next week or next month, miraculously, the word is automatically marked as part of the glossary and linked within your blog to the glossary page without you having to do anything more to cause it to happen.

SWEET!

Each time you think of a word or phrase you often use, you’re able to add it to the glossary, courtesy of the MyInstangGlossary Plugin, and it magically marks all occurrences of the word or phrase for you (except ones that you yourself link to somewhere else).

To me, this is magical. I’m semi-techie, but I have no idea how to create something that makes cool things happen in a blog. I only make cool things happen with words, storytelling and coaching!

Imagine what it would mean to your readers to have a glossary like this. You would be considered more of an authority and resource for people simply because of having a glossary. I simply add terms to the Glossary page on this blog for you as I think of them. And ANY time you see those terms in ANY article, a link is automatically created to the Glossary page.

I have only installed the MyInstantGlossary Plugin recently, and as time goes by, you’ll see more and more words with that special link to the glossary I am creating for you.

words and phrases such as storytelling, metaphor examples and personal narrative examples are some of the things you want from me. And you notice that these words are highlighted in a special way. And you observe the glossary, which shows you other stories using the same word or phrase AND gives you a definition that I created.

You can see how this serves you as a reader, but there’s more. There’s one additional way this plugin serves you.

I like to make things easy for myself – and for YOU, too, which brings me to today’s question:

“How does the My Instant Glossary Plugin Make Blogging Easier?”

Seek first to be of value

The story I told you centers around how me having the MyInstantGlossary Plugin serves you, best beloved, because everything I do is designed to be of service and value to YOU. And there is another aspect of the plugin that serves you from the perspective of finding what you need when you do a Google search AND serves me as the blogger needing increased page rank (PR) and search engine ranking for certain terms.

The plugin helps you serve your reader well by linking him or her to the other stories in your blog, and it serves you in terms of being an authority and in terms of search engine ranking, which is “techie” I know – but any blogger wants to be found.

Helping your ideal reader find you

The simple way to say this is that when you put a problem into a goggle search box, I’d like you to find me on the first page, the closer to the top, the better.

Who can use the My Instant Glossary Plugin?

If you have a self hosted WordPress blog – one that you install on your own website – you can use easily install the awesome My Instant Glossary Plugin

My good friend Steve Holmes of BoomerCo.com developed the My Instant Glossary Plugin. He is so good at developing tools. When you install and use this plugin, let me know what you like best.
